Ginger-Turmeric Lemon Beverage

Serves 4

4 c water

2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

1 tsp ground turmeric (or 1 tbsp fresh turmeric, grated)

Juice of 4 lemons

Honey to taste

In a small saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a gentle simmer. Add grated ginger and turmeric to the simmering water. Allow it to simmer for about 5-7 minutes.

Turn the heat off and then add the fresh lemon juice and allow the mixture to cool to a drinkable temperature. Strain and divide into mugs for serving. Add honey to your taste and enjoy warm.

This will keep in the fridge for 2-3 days and may be reheated as needed, but be sure to only add honey when the drink is cool enough to enjoy, as adding honey to hot beverages cooks the honey and destroys it’s beneficial qualities.
